Happy Holidays and New Year!

Happy New Year ... Merry Christmas ... Happy Thanksgiving ... where does the time go?! So, maybe i haven't been the best about updating but lets just use the excuse that .... LIFE IS CRAZY!!! i posted several pictures from the holidays to catch you up! i have to admit along with all the hustle and bustle, we had a fabulous holiday! In the last few weeks we celebrated Thanksgiving at Tommy and Carlee's old house ... moved them to their new house ... on Christmas Day ... attended one too many Christmas parties ... checked my Dad into the hospital when his kidneys decided to fail ... he is doing much better now, home and healthy ... battled the madness at the malls ... celebrated Christmas Day ... went to St. George with the Cannon crew ... got sick ... still am sick ... back to work ... and preparing for the up and coming NEW YEAR! We hope you all had a healthy and happy Holiday and we wish you a very Happy New Year!!!

GO UTES .... and thank heaven for Primary Childrens

An unforgettable Utah game! .... and for all those parents out there, you are so LUCKY to have Primary Children's so close to home. On Saturday my Dad and brothers went to the game so Carlee, the kids and I went over to a friends house for our own little tailgate party! Five minutes into halftime the kids were running around having fun when Kate went head first into the corner of the kitchen cabinet. It seriously sounded like someone threw a dumbell at the wall, thats how loud it was. By the time Carlee picked her up, i grabbed the car keys, threw her in her car seat, she had soaked through two towels full of blood .... poor baby. She was so scared and you feel so helpless. Although a dramatic car ride, we headed straight to Primary's and thankfully they got us right in. They are so amazing up there, after they applied a numbing agent a child specialist came in with a doll to show Kate what the doctors were going to do to her injury, it really makes the kids a little less scared ... well at least until they start. The doc's came in and explained the process, a local anaesthesia would sedate her enough to get the stitches in. They did however inform us that 1 in 100 cases, a child can react opposite to the anaesthesia .... well, enough said. Our little Katie was that 1 in 100. The only other option was to completely put her under through an IV. A Lane trait (my mom's side of the family) Kate along with the rest of us, has rolly veins. After 4 IV attempts and an extremely unhappy child .... she was out .... but not for long. She is such a fighter, she wanted nothing to do with sedatives. Four hours later, something that looked like a straight jacket (to hold her down), a strong mommy, an emotional aunt (i'm never having children), 10 million "hold you" (Kate's way of telling you to hold her), a queezy daddy (who came after the game and HATES blood), two layers of stitches, totaling 12 all together, our little baby was ready to go home!!!

Utah Man am I .....

On Thursday we went to the Utah vs. TCU game! It was a fun game ..... but it was FREEZING!!! My family have had season tickets for 24 years now and Tad and I snagged two tickets to the game. It seriously was so stinkin' cold I had to spend halftime in the bathroom! The game was a 'blackout' so every fan in the stadium wore black, including the team. I heard the superstitious fans call it "our funeral" but in the end they were proved wrong! It was a pretty boring game until about the last minute and a half, the Utes came back and scored a touchdown to win the game, ranking us SEVENTH in the nation! GO UTES!!!

Happy Halloween! This year we spent the holiday down at the house in St. George. We had so much fun carving pumpkins, taking Myka trick-or-treating for her FIRST halloween, shopping, lounging, and non-stop eating! What a relaxing weekend! Now it's time to change the clocks back and await the upcoming holidays .... until then ..... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Happy Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday times two!!! Grandma Mook and Ali share the same birthday, October 26th, so on Sunday we celebrated with the best brunch at Little America!! Ali turned 29 .... and Grandma ....88!!! She looks so good and is still fun and spunky at her age! Ali happened to be in town for a weekend getaway with her girlfriends, so we stole her away for the day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ladies, we LOVE you both!!!!

Bowl-a-rama . . .

JACK turns FIVE!!! He had his first 'friend' party this year and it was so fun! We had it at Olympus Hills bowling alley and I have to say that that many kids at one time is fun .... but CRAZY!!! It is hilarious to watch them bowl, some of them were pretty good at it. We bowled, ate pizza, sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY, had cake and ice cream, and opened presents (all gifts involved a transformer or power ranger Happy Birthday big boy! We LOVE you!!!

Soccer Season......

GO FIREBIRDS!!!! My nephew Jack had his first soccer game on Saturday..... it was COLD... but it was way fun! He is such a good little soccer player, he actually understands the game and scores all the goals... can you tell I'm a proud aunt....?!?!
